 The Kelkar's Scientific Research Centre Cosmetology Division is the first comprehensive and independent facility in India for validating cosmetics in India. The space alloted for this activity measures approximately 10,500 sq.ft involving different sections for safety tests, efficacy test for skin and hair evaluation. The staff involved in this activity consists of 15 technical staff and 5 nontechnical staff. The supporting staff includes a panel of visiting dermatologists, statistician and recruiting agency. Clinical investigation regarding pregnancy test, blood test is out sourced to pathological laboratory. In case of adverse event involving hospitalization a tie up with a near by local hospital Dr.Sabnis Hospital, Mulund (East) is available. The institute has constituted an Independent Ethics Committee as per Schedule Y to review the protocols for safety and efficacy studies. The facility is well equipped with latest equipment used for efficacy evaluation . The equipments are well maintained by regualr calibration and validation program.
